Draft Rules

Your group already has rules. Write each one as a plain sentence and OnlineDraft enforces it on every pick — block it, warn the room, or pause the draft for an admin.

OnlineDraft Create Draft Rule dialog with three rule styles and a live plain-English preview

The problem

House rules live in someone's head.

Every group has them — position caps, coverage minimums, items that need special handling. Enforcing them by hand mid-draft means somebody has to notice, object, and unwind picks.

The solution

Rules that check every pick for you.

Build each rule as a plain-English sentence with a live preview of exactly what it enforces. When one fires, it blocks the pick, posts a warning, or pauses the draft — always in draft chat, so nothing happens silently.

In practice

What groups enforce with rules.

Three rule styles cover most agreements — and an admin can always override, with the whole room watching.

01

Cap and balance picks

Max two quarterbacks per team, or a roster that must cover every position — counting rules enforce quotas and minimums across the whole draft or a single round.

02

Watch the special items

Designate paired or linked items. When one is taken, the pick goes through, the draft pauses, and your note tells the room what happens next.

03

Protect the schedule

In date drafts, limit how many people from the same site or department are off on the same day — and when a date gets tight, the room is warned automatically.

04

Stay in control

Every block, warning, and override lands in draft chat. Rules are optional — flip one switch and they save without enforcing.

Set the rules once. Draft without referees.

Create your group free, build your rules as sentences, and run the draft knowing every pick gets checked.
